WPC Future Leaders Forum 2016

In 2016, from 24 to 27 October, IBP – Brazilian Petroleum, Natural Gas & Biofuels Institute brought to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the fifth edition of the largest gathering of young professionals in the petroleum industry. Under the motto “Game changers: new leaders for a new competitive energy industry”, the 2016 edition of the event, created by the World Petroleum Council (WPC), had as pillars of discussion topics such as industry sustainability, business leadership and technology & innovation.

FLF is a global and collaborative event.
To organize this 5th edition here in Brazil, young professionals from all around the globe did a lot of research, organized a lot of focus groups, discussions and meetings.

Dr. Martén has advised governments and regulators across the world on issues related to energy regulation and sustainable development. In 2013, Consulting Magazine named him one of the "Top 25" most influential consultants of the year.

Ivan Almeida was born in Luanda, Angola. He is a geologist and has a master’s degree in Geo Sciences at the University of Indiana, USA (1998). He began his career in Exploration at Sonangol, Angola. In 1999 he joined ExxonMobil as Geologist of Operations, where he acted in a great variety of campaigns throughout the world, in countries such as Angola, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Chade, Russia, Norway, Trinidad and Tobago and Australia. At the American oil company, Almeida occupied several positions (technical and managerial), among them Operations Supervisor, Development Projects Modeling and Interpretation Supervisor and New Projects Director. He now occupies the position of Operations Manager at ExxonMobil in Brazil.

Formerly, she worked as a Executive Director at Fundação Brasileira para Desenvolvimento Sustentável – FBDS, Corporate Strategy Manager at Petrobras, among others.

Paulo Carvalho

Paulo Carvalho is post-doctoral researcher of the Production Engineering Program at COPPE/UFRJ, in the Laboratory of Advanced Systems in Production Management – SAGE, where he works with research about Sustainable Production and Management Systems.

He has 30-year experience in the oil and gas industry as senior executive in Sustainability, HSSEQ-SR, Compliance (Anti-Corruption and Ethics) and Human Resources, developed in multinational companies.

He is a Mechanical and Safety Engineer from PUC-RJ, with Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in Production Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ.
