Another three big names have been confirmed for ROG.e 2024, one of the world’s leading energy events: Carlos Pascual (Vice President for Global Energy and International Affairs at S&P Global Commodity Insights), Roberto Monteiro, CEO at Prio and Liz Schwarze, Vice President for Global Exploration at Chevron. Organized by the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP), ROG.e 2024 will take place at the Olympic Boulevard in Rio de Janeiro from September 23 to 26.

Pascual will be a moderator at the international Strategics Talks – with the participation of the CEOs of TotalEnergies, Shell, Equinor, and EIG – and a speaker at the Connecting Energies session, which will promote debates on investment strategies and financial risk reduction in the energy industry, as well as an international view on the future of the sector. Carlos Pascual leads all S&P’s business lines in Latin America and is a former head of the Bureau of Energy Resources at the US State Department.

Monteiro and Schwarze will be present at Strategic Talks, a space for C-Levels to talk about business and the market. Monteiro has worked at PRIO since the beginning of his career, holding positions such as Chief Financial Officer, Investor Relations and New Business Director, and Chief Operating Officer. He has a Civil Engineering major from the University of São Paulo (USP – São Carlos) and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University – Tepper School.

Schwarze is in charge of Chevron’s worldwide exploration program and chairs the company’s Global Exploration Leadership Team in oil and gas. Before that, Liz Schwarze was General Manager of Exploration for Chevron Africa and Latin America, overseeing exploration in these regions. She was also General Manager of Exploration for Chevron Asia Pacific Exploration and Production.
The president of IBP, Roberto Ardenghy, believes that this meeting of international leaders and authorities will deepen the debate on diversity and the transformation of the global and national energy grid. “Never before has Rio de Janeiro welcomed so many business leaders of this caliber to talk about the energy transition,” said Ardenghy.

He believes that this is a unique opportunity to analyze energy efficiency and security scenarios, the integration of decarbonization initiatives, new green technologies and the role of the oil and gas sector in the energy transition. “This way, we are actually reinforcing the concept of the event – ‘Connecting Energies’ – which will be key to the future of our planet and society,” concludes the president of IBP.
