Between September 23 and 26, the energy sector will be turning its attention to Rio de Janeiro. One of the world’s leading energy events, which in 2022 already had the largest occupancy of the Olympic Boulevard, surpassing Rio 2016, is returning to Rio’s port area in a different way to encompass more discussions, people and energy.
Rio Oil & Gas, with 40 years of tradition, is now ROG.e and is already born with a historic legacy. With the motto “Connecting energies”, the conference will broaden its scope this year, embracing more players in a scenario of energy transition and giving more prominence to new energy sources.
This can be seen, for example, in the conference: in addition to new thematic axes – Low Carbon Solutions; People, Culture and Society; and Fundability of the Transition – it has a more diverse and plural organizing and technical committee.
To provide an outlet for the new discussions, the event will also have eight pavilions in the region. There will be 60,000 m² of built area – more than the 51,000 m² in 2022 – in addition to the occupation of the Olympic Boulevard itself as a social area and spaces for boats and floats moored at Pier Mauá. All this to welcome more than 60,000 people over four days.
For the port area to be able to host an event of this size, IBP is renovating two warehouses – freeing up spaces that will double the region’s expo capacity – as well as building ramps, toilets and a covered walkway that will connect the two sides of the Boulevard, providing greater convenience for participants.
Names such as Magda Chambriard, President of Petrobras; Anders Opedal, CEO of Equinor; Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of TotalEnergies; Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell; Roberto Monteiro, CEO of PRIO; Leonardo Linden, CEO of Ipiranga; Sophie Zurquiyah, Group CEO of Veridien; Liz Schwarze, VP Global Exploration of Chevron; Gordon Birrell, EVP Production & Operations at bp; Maiza Goulart, Executive Manager at CENPES; R. Blair Thomas, CEO of EIG; are already among those confirmed.
To discuss the future, the event will also feature a talk and Q&A session by Rohit Bhargava, a futurologist, innovation expert and trend forecaster who has inspired leaders, executives and CEOs in presentations in more than 30 countries and for major companies such as NASA, Disney, Microsoft, Intel and Coca-Cola. What makes Rohit regarded as disruptive and innovative is his reliance on what he calls “non-obvious thinking” to show how to catch up with trends and think about the future.
ROG.e will be divided into the conference – which encompasses the Strategic Talks, Dialogues, special sessions and presentation of technical papers -, and the expo, which will include booths from more than 450 companies and the following parallel events: DE&I Arena; Young Summit; Renewables and Biofuels Arena; Onshore Forum; Lubricants Arena; and SOMA (ANP Operational Safety and Environment Seminar).
In addition, the big novelty of the parallel schedule is iUP Innovation Connections, iUP’s space dedicated to innovation at ROG.e. The program will feature plenary sessions, which will include debates and presentations on trends, cases and demands of the energy industry; keynote sessions, in which CEOs and market leaders will present their visions for the industry and the innovation ecosystem; masterclasses with experts and industry benchmarks on technology, innovation, attracting investments and managing startups; exhibition and startups.
Names such as Alfredo Renault, CEO of COPPE’s Low Carbon Technology Solutions Center; Isabel Waclawek, PD&I Director at TotalEnergies; Patricia Grabowsky, Executive Manager of People and Innovation at Ocyan; Paulo Costa, CEO of Cubo; and André Clark, VP at Siemens Energy for Brazil and LATAM are already confirmed.
Tickets are now available in different formats, such as the ROG.e VIP Pass, which offers a complete event experience, covering all sessions, parallel events and spaces, including the ROG.e Club, the event’s VIP area. Learn more here.
