INI and SIS Audit

NON-INTRUSIVE PILOT INSPECTION AUDIT (INI)

Companies that have an Equipment Inspection Specific Service (SPIE) can apply the Non-Intrusive Inspection (INI) methodology, as provided for in NR-13, and must carry out a pilot inspection, accompanied by an auditor appointed by the OCP/IBP at all stages.

This inspection is called an “INI Pilot Inspection Audit”.

After the pilot inspection, an internal visual inspection must be carried out, accompanied by an auditor appointed by the OCP/IBP, within a maximum period of 2 (two) years, to validate the methodology’s effectiveness.

The SPIE unit whose pilot inspection is approved can apply the INI methodology, as per NR-13.

The request to schedule the audit must be made to the OCP/IBP at least 60 (sixty) days in advance, starting from the date scheduled for the pilot INI audit.

SECURITY SYSTEMS HOMOLOGATION AUDIT (SIS)

Should the SPIE wish to extend the internal safety inspection period for any of its boilers, it must implement a protective barrier through a Safety Instrumented System (SIS), which will be defined based on reliability studies, which will be audited through the “SIS Homologation Audit”.

The SIS homologation will be carried out individually for each “Category A” boiler in permanent operation. After the homologation, SIS compliance must be monitored during the subsequent mandatory audits of the respective SPIE.

The request to schedule the audit must be made to the OCP/IBP, at least 60 (sixty) days in advance, counting from the date scheduled for the SIS Homologation Audit.
