One of IBP’s primary focus areas is Exploration & Production (E&P), the first link in the oil value chain, where everything begins.

IBP actively engage in regulatory, tax, environmental, supply chain and other issues surrounding E&P activities through boards and committees composed of member executives and IBP staff.

IBP also participates in public meetings with government agencies, regulators, operators and suppliers associations. We engage in advocacy which aims to optimize return on investment and attract foreign businesses and capital.

Maintenance and foreseeability of the exploratory block bid rounds schedule

Maintaining a bid round schedule is crucial for the sector, as the oil companies and their suppliers rely on it to plan the continuity of their investments in the country, the discovery of new reserves and the furthering of their knowledge on our sedimentary basins, with the consequent attraction of divestments to the country.

Environmental licensing

The sector has a commitment to sustainability and is known for its excellence and quality in regard to environmental licensing, having the respect for the environment as one of its pillars.

Legal and tax certainty

A regulatory and tax legal scenario, with rationality, clarity and stability, allows oil geology to be a preponderant factor in attracting investments.

Development, innovation and competitiveness in the supply chain

The rebalancing of industrial development policies needs to continue advancing with a focus on competitiveness and innovation, in order to highlight our ability to enter global value chains.
