Mr. Uría currently serves as Senior Director of Membership and Global Industry Services at the American Petroleum Institute. API represents more than 630 oil and natural gas companies, leaders of a technology-driven industry that supplies most of America’s energy.
Mr. Uría is responsible for membership development, outreach and engagement with industry stakeholders. He also oversees meeting and events activities of API’s Global Industry Services (GIS). API-GIS has offices in Washington DC, Houston, Beijing, Dubai, Singapore and Rio de Janeiro. GIS serves to represent API and its members as the worldwide leader in providing standards, safety programs, certification programs, training and events that promote safe and consistent operations, high-quality and reliable equipment, the sharing of best practices, and developing expertise within the oil and natural gas industry.
Prior to joining API, Mr. Uría spent 10 years at Weston Solutions and subsidiary companies working in roles of increasing complexity and scale. Mr. Uría earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry at Houston Baptist University, and a master’s degree in technology management at the University of Maryland. He also holds several lead auditor certifications.
