The call for papers for Rio Oil & Gas 2018 – to be held from September 24 to 27, in Rio de Janeiro – is open up until March 30. In its 19th edition, the main Latin America oil and gas event will gather industry, governmental authorities, academy and civil society to address the most important topics in the energy sector.
Under the motto “Transforming Challenges into Opportunities”, the Conference is divided into five major conference topics: Exploration & Production, Downstream, Gas and Power, Industry Management and Digital Technologies. Through the Author’s Area, on the event’s website, those who are interested can submit their extended abstracts concerning one of those themes, and the selected authors will be able to present their projects in the oral or digital poster formats.
The final projects will compete for honorable mentions and will be published in IBP’s online library, with ISSN registration, and in libraries of universities and partner companies. They may still be published in indexed journals. The authors will also run for the Plínio Cantanhede prize, awarded to the best technical work presented at an IBP event.
Several institutions have already submitted their extended abstracts to the conference, including USP, Unicamp, UFRJ, Heriot-Watt University, ANP, Petrobras, FGV Energia, Schlumberger, Halliburton, INTL-FCStone, Galp Energia, TBG and MCS.
The most important O&G business and networking platform in Latin America, Rio Oil & Gas had, in 2016, the participation of 34,000 visitors, 4,200 delegates, 31 countries, in addition to the presentation of more than 640 papers.
This year, once more, the event invests in crosscutting themes, such as technology, sustainability, new leadership, as well as specific forums on downstream, onshore exploration and production, certification and asphalt, bringing together the entire productive chain of the sector.
