KENNY HAWSEY
Before taking on the Global Leadership role, Kenny served as the US Energy Tax Leader from 2011-2016. Before relocating to Houston in 2011, Kenny was the Middle East Energy Tax Leader and the Saudi Tax Leader based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Kenny has over 27 years of US and international tax experience working with large and mid-cap multi-national corporations (MNCs). Kenny’s experience includes international assignments to Russia (Moscow), Azerbaijan (Baku), The United Arab Emirates (Dubai) and Saudi Arabia (Riyadh). Kenny has worked with many MNC clients investing into these foreign jurisdictions and has negotiated and dealt with a number of different types of oil & gas agreements in those different locations. He has had the opportunity to work with energy clients across the Former Soviet Union and the Middle East Region.
Kenny’s experience includes dealing with many oil & gas agreements (production sharing, concession, etc.) in different locations and many cross border transactions in upstream energy companies as well as with international oil field service companies and drilling companies.
Kenny also has significant tax accounting experience and has dealt with FAS 109 and FIN 48 extensively.
OISTEIN JOHANNESSEN
Øistein Johannessen is Head of Communications for Equinor in Brazil since November 2017, which includes Public & Political Affairs. He joined Equinor in 2008 and has since then had different positions in the company, such as Vice President for Communications in Development & Production Norway, Marketing, Processing & Renewables and also Technology & New Energy. Previously, he has worked as Communication Advisor for Shell in Norway. He graduated in Social Sciences from University of Bergen (Norway), is 49 years old and has two kids.
