What young people from several countries around the globe, with different ages, cultures, religions and backgrounds, could have in common? The reason gathering them is the organization of the fifth edition of WPC Future Leaders Forum, which lands in Brazil this year bringing debates about leadership, sustainability, technological trends, career and other relevant topics in technical areas such as exploration, production, downstream, among others. The event will bring together over 600 young professionals and students in Rio de Janeiro, from October 24 to 27, during Rio Oil & Gas 2016.
Over 50 professionals from Ghana, Nigeria, Indonesia, Brazil, Spain, Russia, United States, Canada and other countries compose the organizing committee that has the mission to build the agenda not only with well-known executives from the biggest companies around the globe but also with young leaders that are making the difference inside their companies and institutions – and deserve to tell their stories.
According to one of the volunteers, Stephane Rousselet, vice-chair of WPC Young Professionals Committee, from France, FLF is a unique platform gathering students and young professionals from all cultures, backgrounds and nationalities. “This premier conference reflects my vision of the energy industry in general and oil and gas in particular: open, multicultural, and multidisciplinary”, said.
From China, senior engineer Jifeng Liang, from China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC), said that, besides the relevant agenda, “FLF is a good opportunity to meet international senior executives and young people and to show what Brazilian young professionals have achieved and exchange many brilliant ideas for oil and gas industry”.
